Kashid has an excellent, unspoiled, 3 km silver sand beach near the town of Alibag It is definitely one of the best beaches on the Konkan coastal strip of Maharashtra. It has pure white sand and the surf that breaks here is excellent. This beach is 139 km south of Bombay and virtually undiscovered, but it may not remain quiet for long as it is becoming popular with hikers and water-sports enthusiasts.
The Konkani cuisine will certainly add special taste to your holidays!

Your tour commences from arrival at Mumbai/Pune from where you will will be transferred to Kashid (4 hours drive) where you will be booked to stay for 2 nights. The rest of the day is free.

The day can be spent visiting silvery sandsofthe beach. Laterintheafternoon, drive to Murud where you can see the 300years old Fort of Janjira. Janjira Jal-durg (sea fort) was constructed by Malik Ambar, an Abssinian minister in the service of the Sultan of Ahmednagar, who belonged to the famous Nizamshahi dynasty. The fort, built at the end of the 17th Century, is almost entirely intact even today, despite the ravages of wind and tide, a testimony to the marvels of ancient engineering.
